It is the first product in the new iResOps portfolio. The company is also launching private previews for Veeam Data Platform and Okta.

Veeam iResOps for Microsoft 365 works as an extension to Veeam Data Cloud for Microsoft 365. According to Veeam, the add-on can be connected to an existing environment in a few clicks, without data migration or changes to the architecture. The system continuously maps data, users, access rights, AI agents, activities and their protection status.

Features within Microsoft 365

Veeam says iResOps extends the service with the DataAI Command Graph, which links context from production data to backups. This allows users to map Copilot and other AI agents and see which sensitive data they can access. If an agent modifies or deletes files, the company says, users can see what has changed and roll those changes back.

The tool also classifies sensitive or regulated data in SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams and Exchange and shows who or what has access to it. Redundant, obsolete or trivial data (ROT data) can be identified and quarantined until a decision is made on whether it should be archived or deleted. Veeam claims this reduces storage costs and limits the potential impact of incidents. In addition, the solution checks whether business-critical data is actually being backed up and flags gaps before an incident occurs. Through built-in agents, authorised team members can ask questions in plain language about data, access, AI agents and backup protection.

Recovery point and recovery map

CEO Anand Eswaran says the question of resilience is shifting. Whereas for a long time it was about whether you could recover, he argues it is now about establishing what was affected, who or what was involved and how to return to a trusted state. Eswaran describes iResOps as a recovery map alongside the recovery point: an overview of what to restore first, what has changed and what should specifically not be restored. According to him, the product combines Veeam’s backup technology with Securiti AI’s capabilities in data security and governance.

Veeam backs up the launch with figures from its own Veeam Data Trust and Resilience Report 2026. In it, 88 per cent of organisations say they are using or testing AI agents, while according to the report only 7 per cent are actually AI-ready. At more than 82 per cent, unknown AI agents are active in the IT environment. Krista Case, Principal Analyst at theCUBE Research, observes that organisations still have gaps when it comes to monitoring agent activity, reconstructing actions and validating recovery processes.

Private previews for Veeam Data Platform and Okta

Veeam is also announcing two private previews. For Veeam Data Platform, existing backup servers can be connected to the DataAI Command Platform, after which infrastructure, workloads and indexed files become visible in a single cloud console. The console supports central management of RBAC, SSO and MFA and includes three AI agents: the Dashboard Agent, the Graph Agent and the Backup Admin Agent. The functionality is part of Veeam Data Platform v13.2, which the company expects to make generally available in the fourth quarter of 2026.

For Okta, iResOps creates immutable recovery points for users, groups, applications, policies and administrator roles. Veeam points out that Okta itself offers no point-in-time recovery or version history and applies a 30-day soft-delete period for users. According to the company, the current tenant can be compared with an earlier state at property level, and individual objects, including memberships, app assignments and roles, can be restored without rolling back the entire tenant. The service complements the existing identity resilience features for Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID.

Availability

iResOps for Microsoft 365 is available now as an add-on to the Foundation and Advanced editions of Veeam Data Cloud for Microsoft 365 and can also be obtained through Veeam Cloud & Service Providers (VCSPs). The previews for Veeam Data Platform and Okta are open to selected customers. Private previews for GitHub, Azure DevOps and Google IAM will follow in the fourth quarter of 2026. Veeam notes that functionality in the preview phase may still change.

The full report can be read via Veeam Data Trust and Resilience Report 2026.

Veeam Data Cloud for Microsoft 365 gains an add-on that maps AI agents and sensitive data.
