LANCOM Systems has launched the LX-7200E, a tri-band Wi-Fi 7 access point that combines wireless network infrastructure and electronic shelf labels in a single device. The unit is aimed at environments with a high density of devices, such as shops, warehouses and healthcare facilities. Management is handled via the LANCOM Management Cloud platform.<\/strong> Among other features, the LX-7200E supports Electronic Shelf Labels (ESL), eliminating the need for separate ESL hardware. LANCOM is positioning the device primarily at the retail, logistics and healthcare sectors.<\/p>\n

The access point supports the 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz and 6 GHz bands simultaneously. Using an MLO (Multi Link Operation) architecture, it distributes radio traffic efficiently across these three bands. According to LANCOM, the 6 GHz band, which is available exclusively for Wi-Fi, is suited to applications that require low network latency and high bandwidth.<\/p>\n

For ESL integration, LANCOM reports direct compatibility with the three largest manufacturers in the field: VUSION, SoluM and Hanshow. This allows retailers to update prices and product information automatically from central systems, without manual changes at each shelf. In addition to built-in ESL radio modules, the device offers Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) connectivity. Compatibility can be extended further via external USB radio modules, which LANCOM says reduces dependence on specific ESL manufacturers.<\/p>\n

Applications beyond retail<\/h3>\n

In logistics environments such as warehouses and distribution centres, the LX-7200E can serve as the core infrastructure for mobile tablets, real-time inventory management systems linked to ERP environments, and IoT sensors that monitor equipment and flows of goods.<\/p>\n

In the healthcare sector, LANCOM is targeting the access point at environments where mobile medical equipment, terminals for care teams and location systems need to be connected wirelessly. The device supports real-time monitoring of medical devices and supplies, which optimises logistics processes within healthcare facilities and reduces search times.<\/p>\n

Management via LANCOM Management Cloud<\/h3>\n

The LX-7200E can be managed via the LANCOM Management Cloud platform. Among other things, this platform enables configuration automation, monitoring of radio performance and energy consumption, and the enforcement of security policies across multiple sites.
